Exercising – when’s the best time of day to do it?

Question:
I’m 18 and the only “exercising” I do is normal every day walking (going from room to room in the house, walking around the mall/store, going outside, etc…). I don’t actually work out daily or anything. I know that exercising is important and I want to start working out to keep myself in shape. What I’m afraid of is weight loss. I DO NOT want to or need to lose any weight! I have a body that most would consider nice. I’m skinny and will admit to having a nice body. So what are the best ways to do some working out WITHOUT losing weight?

Also, what’s the best time in the morning/afternoon to do some work outs? How long should it last and what should be done? Should it be done a few times weekly, or should it be more of a daily thing? Since I don’t excersise regularly, what should I do my first day I have a work out session?

Any other information/tips/advice?

Thanks ahead of time to anyone who reads this/helps!
Other info – I’m about 5`3-5`4, not sure about my weight (I think last time I went to the doctor and got weighed it was like 105, but that’s been awhile ago). I eat whatever I want and never really gain or show weight.

Answer:

Exercise as time permits, but don’t do it right before you go to bed. Too many hormones causing alertness.

You can do some core training with yoga or pilates. You’ll tighten and tone your muscles, but you should know this ahead of time, lean muscle consumes calories faster than anything, so you have to make sure you’re eating a well balanced diet and not going into a calorie deficit where you’re burning more calories than you consume or you will lose weight.
