I have six weeks to lose weight. How?
Lose Weight In Six Weeks
Question:
I have six weeks to lose hopefully 15 to 20 pounds. Please answers besides “Eat right and exercise.” How should I go about this? I have started walking for about thirty minutes a day and have been cutting back on food. Will this do it for me? I’ve read several places that walking is some of the best exercise possible. I walk pretty briskly and up hills.
Answer:
The walking is a real good start. When I walk 1-2 miles a day and eat better, I lose about 2 lbs a week. However, getting on the scale to see how much weight you’ve lost is not a good method to check your progress. Measuring yourself is better. You’ll know you’re losing fat when your clothes start fitting better.
To boost your fat lose, you’ll need to do some resistance training. As you build up some muscle, it will start to burn away the fat. A pound of muscle weighs the same as a pound of fat and that’s why I said using the scale is not the ideal way to check your progress. However, a pound of muscle takes up less volume that a pound of fat so even if you weigh the same, you’ll actually be skinnier because of that volume thing.
